Senator Dean Martin Receives the “Tech Ten” Award

 

 

Phoenix, AZ –  The Arizona Software and Internet Association, AZSOFT.net, has awarded Arizona State Senator Dean Martin with a “Tech Ten Award” as a legislator who has been most influential in moving the technology agenda forward.

 

Dean was presented with the award at the Celebration of Innovation ceremony on June 14th at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, with more than 800 AZSOFT.net industry members, political dignitaries and guests in attendance.

 

Upon receiving the award, Dean stated, “I appreciate this award and the work that AZSOFT.net has done to raise awareness of technology issues.  Information technology is a necessity in the New Economy, and I will continue to work to ensure that the state of Arizona is a leader in this arena.”

 

Senator Dean Martin is a small-business owner and entrepreneur who makes his home with his wife Kerry in Legislative District 24.  Dean has lived in Arizona since 1979 and graduated from Arizona State University.   Dean represents a new generation of political leadership, a legislator who is serving his first term in the bipartisan Senate of 2000. 

 

Dean is one of the busiest Senators, serving on a total of four standing committees and one standing sub-committee.  He is the Chairman of the Appropriations Sub-Committee on Criminal Justice and Transportation as well as Vice-Chairman of the Government Committee and a member of the Banking & Insurance, Appropriations and Transportation Committees.  His committee appointments include ITAC (Information Technology Authorization Committee), JLAC (Joint Legislative Audit Committee), the Legislative Council Committee on Computer Policy, and the Committee on Transportation between Arizona and the nation of Mexico.
